LCMS Reduces Lab Costs
The applications of liquid chromatography (LC) in combination with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) are of increasing importance as an analytical tool in clinical laboratory diagnostics. In the past few years there has been an exponential growth of the use of such techniques in clinical laboratory, pharmacology, and toxicology. At present, the spectrum of LC-MS/MS applications ranges from the measurement of single analytes to qualitative and quantitative multiparametric analyses. Combining MS/MS with atmospheric pressure ionization (API) techniques like electrospray ionization (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical and photo ionization offers high analytical detection power, specificity, and robustness, as well as the option for high-throughput analyses at low running costs.
